🎃 Happy Halloween! We're just batty to share festive works from our Awesome Art 1 students (Age 6.5-9)

This month, our young artists practiced symmetry and balance during several projects including these mixed-media bats🦇 They required some brain power to design, cut, and assemble the parts in order to create these excited, happy creatures soaring through the night🦇 BTW - did you know an old English word for the bat is "flittermouse"? 🖤 That's kind of cute!

Awesome Art 1 students also made cozy pumpkin homes, with a fun resident of their choice hiding behind the front door👻 The interactive element and free choice for the pumpkin-homeowner was super engaging and challenged skills - win! win!

🎃 Halloween is here and we're ready to celebrate! We're excited to share festive works from our Awesome Art 2 students (Age 9.5-12+)

Taking inspiration from the past, these young artists drew vintage-inspired 🖤 Halloween characters using oil pastels on a black background, to really make the colors pop! The heavy lines and thick color were in complete contrast to the delicate fruit bats 🦇 made with watercolor and pencil. These bats have the sweetest little faces, don't you think?

🦇 Both projects gave students practice in using different mediums and creative choice.

🎃 Our littlest artist wish you a Happy Halloween! Little Picasso students (Age 5-6) practiced making patterns while creating colorful, complicated spiderwebs, featuring lil' spiders 🕷 that dangle from thread.

This project packed a fine-motor-development punch✨ including drawing, tracing, cutting and the use of chalk pastels.
